Zarifa is a passionate singer who has been surrounded by music since she was a child. She started singing when she was only 3 in a Gypsy music company. She then attended one of the most prestigious Art Schools in Moscow, the Russian University of Performing Arts, where she studied piano and singing.
At the age of 15, she decided to settle in France where she met with Florin Niculescu, a worldwide famous violinist. He was amazed by her great talent and initiated her to Jazz music. She discovers a real vocation listening to Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Frank Sinatra… She now works on her own project, singing a selection of Jazz and Soul music, Velvet Jazz by Zarifa, young lady dreaming of too many things...
